New Year New You?

Before you’ve even taken the tree down or got to the end of The Snowman patterned kitchen roll, suddenly it’s January again and Health with a capital H is on everyone’s agenda.

For the first couple of weeks of every year, it seems every newspaper, magazine and TV programme has a mission to help you get more fit and less fat.

Well sometimes it’s hard to resist a bandwagon, so here at Foundry Healthcare, our very own Foundry Health Club has sprung into action to help our colleagues and friends stick to their resolutions - at least until the end of the month, with daily motivational tips to keep the dieters and abstainers amongst us on the straight and narrow.

But… we also know that those very words – diet and abstinence – are part of the problem. When it’s cold, dark, windy and, let’s face it, wet and there’s not a shred of tinsel to illuminate the gloom, self-denial can be a bit, well, gloomy.

So, we’re also trying to inject a little more enjoyment into the month - after all, who doesn’t want to be happy as well as healthy? So in with the recipes for lettuce surprise, we’re reminding people to smile and to make others smile too – it’s about the little acts of kindness and moments of mirth that are going to keep us motivated.

You’ll find plenty of Healthy and Happy tips onour site, together with a few diversions to fill those little pauses in your day and help you get back to the to-do list with renewed vigour. So why not spread the fun and share the motivational Tweets from theGood Times Gallery with your friends, or send us your Feel-Good Doodles on Facebook and Twitter @FoundryHC? You can even download a kit to make your own sock puppets too.
